It should clear that this is for a local development machine. Not production. You can find a deployment script on RVM’s site. Personally I think a direct install is just easier for production. Note that if you use Passenger you are limited in versioning.

Also rubinius 2.0.0pre is out today (6/8/11)

Hey,
Overall, its great, but the part about RVM is a bit outdated or just did not work. After installing using the current info on the RVM site, the rest was dead on. Thanks a lot for the info!

any time you see “sudo gem install” change it to “rvmsudo gem install” because rvm does not support sudo.

Thanks – I had the same problem with cleanlooks and changed the style to windows and that fixed it! I have ubuntu 10.10 my next problem will be to get my built in webcam to work.

Interesting post Stephan and you certainly raise some good points. It will be interesting to see if Firefox 4/5 can take some chunks back out of Chrome. From what I’ve tried of FF4 it still seems laggy compared to the latest Chromium (on Debian at least).

Oh, and about slavery. Of course we abolished slavery way after Britian. Your country had quite a while to get it right. The US on the other hand, was still developing and the whole southern economy was based on slavery. The North passed laws that “slowly abolished slavery” way before the south. It wasn’t until later on that Slavery was officially abolished. Trust me, the US has a lot more history and depth when it comes to Blacks.

I find it funny how EVERYONE has something to say when it comes to America…
I guess you Brits will never get over the fact that you lost America. Couldn’t beat us in the revolution (yeah yeah yeah we had France’s minimal help)… Biggest tax evasion ever? You WOULD think that way… prissy? No, more like honest and to the point… You Brits would be “prissy”… Cocky and hypocritical Europeans… Start being honest with yourselves and reevaluate your bias views toward the US… As my mom says, “Only stupid Americans visit Europe”. That is because America is far more beautiful and has much more to explore than Britain and the rest of Europe. Oh, and the people are nicer. I know you’re seething, I know you will call me stupid… uneducated, you know; the typical things you people say to Americans… So keep hating, because it wont do anything to tarnish my glorious life here in America.
